A step-by-step walkthrough for new Rosie users β€” from first sign-in to asking your first question and exploring the dashboard.

Welcome to Rosie

This guide walks you through your first experience with Rosie, from signing in to getting comfortable with the platform. By the end, you will have asked your first question, explored the dashboard, and understood the key features available to you.

Step 1: Sign In

Visit your organization's Rosie site and click Sign In. Enter the email and password you set up during account creation. If you have not created an account yet, click Join Waiting List and wait for an administrator to approve your request.

Some organizations allow anonymous access. If you can see the chat interface without signing in, you can start asking questions right away β€” but signing in unlocks additional features like the dashboard, session memory, and document upload.

Step 2: Take the Guided Tour

When you sign in for the first time, Rosie offers an interactive guided tour that highlights each part of the interface. The tour walks you through the chat input, session controls, filter chips, and navigation menu. Follow along to get oriented before diving in.

If you dismiss the tour, you can restart it at any time from Settings.

Step 3: Ask Your First Question

Type a question in the input field at the bottom of the chat and press Enter. Try something related to your organization's domain β€” for example, "How does billing work?" or "What are the key features?"

Rosie will search the knowledge base and stream a response in real time. After the response finishes, you will see source cards showing which documents were used to compose the answer.

Step 4: Explore the Source Cards

Below each response, source cards show the documents that contributed to the answer. Each card displays the document title and an attention percentage indicating how much that source influenced the response. Click any card to see the original text that was retrieved.

Source cards make Rosie transparent β€” you can always verify where the information came from.

Step 5: Visit the Dashboard

Click Dashboard in the navigation menu to see your account overview. The dashboard shows:

  • Your balance β€” available credits for asking questions
  • RoC earnings β€” credits earned from any documents you contribute
  • Leaderboard β€” top contributors in your organization
  • Trending topics β€” what people are asking about most

The dashboard is your hub for tracking activity and understanding how the knowledge base is being used.

Step 6: Try a Session

To have a multi-turn conversation, enter a session key in the field above the chat input. Type any label (like "my-first-session") and press Enter. Now when you ask follow-up questions, Rosie will remember your previous messages and maintain context.

Sessions are great for research topics that require several related questions.

Step 7: Explore Settings

Click your model badge in the chat header or navigate to Settings to configure your experience. You can:

  • Choose a different AI model
  • Configure BYOK API keys if you have your own
  • Adjust notification preferences

Next Steps

Now that you are up and running, explore these topics to get more out of Rosie:

  • Contribute content β€” upload documents to the knowledge base and earn RoC credits
  • Use filters β€” narrow your search results using metadata filter chips
  • Monitor performance β€” track your contributions on the dashboard
